I still haven't seen the third film in the series, I've heard it isn't as good as the first two and that's mainly due to adding humour and it being filmed like an actual film. Then there was the change in plot and place. The overall plot still playing out but there is nothing to do with the building from the first two.
However with 'Apocalypse', The original plot, handheld cameras and Angela Vidal returns and after the second movie's ending it should have you ready to go to watch this instalment as it continues practically straight after just as the second did with the first. This I can imagine will be the best of all 'Rec' films.
'American Mary' is one I don't really know much about, it's classed as a horror yet I don't know what is really horror about it. The wonderful Katherine Isabelle plays an underground plastic surgeon who begins to do extreme body modification. I'm guessing she begins to kill people. I could be wrong but either way it looks like it will be an incredible movie.
Pretty much everything that John Carpenter does is amazing. Whether it's his own work or if it's just directing other peoples stories.
Even 'Ghosts Of Mars' had a little bit of fun in it.
Then there's this. Ariel Chylde is a young woman who can change into creatures from her nightmares. Using this power she fights other creatures she unwittingly released.
Based on the comic series of the same name that outsold practically all other comics like Spider-man, Batman, Hulk and more it became a massive success with male and female fans across America. So I'm pretty certain the movie will be massive.
Test footage was released in 2010 and then later in the same year it was announced that John Carpenter will be directing. The test footage looks great and I can't wait for what actual footage will be like.
Set to be released sometime this year, I hope it will be sooner than later.
Finally Rob Zombie is doing one of his own films again. This time based on one of his songs 'Lords Of Salem'.
In my opinion his remake of 'Halloween' was terrible. The second one not much better. But then 'House of 1000 Corpses' and 'The Devils Rejects' were brilliant films. 'House' bringing that feeling of horror from old 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' up to date and modern.
'Lords Of Salem' I imagine will do the same sort of thing. Recreating horror for the modern generation by re-adding atmosphere and suspense like the classics.
From the set photos and trailers I have seen it looks amazing. The only problem I have is that it is pretty much 'Hocus Pocus' for adults by the sounds of things. But can't complain I guess.
I'm just thankful that Zombie has returned to do his own thing again.
Of course it has to be 'Evil Dead' in the number one spot.
Have you seen the trailer? It looks perfect.
I just hope they can keep up to it.
That and the poster.
Plus Jane Levy is a sweet loveable actress that has a perfect innocent face to be the new female equivalent of the originals Ash.
And with Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell paying for the movie to be made and backing it all the way it has to be good.
I just hope that people don't go in expecting the humour of 'Evil Dead 2' or 'Army Of Darkness' as they will be in for a BIG surprise.
Definitely a cinema experience for me with this one. I will not let it slip through my fingers.
Anyway thank you for reading. Post me a comment here or on the facebook page to let me know what films you are mostly looking forward to.
