Beginning with the not so amazing then amazing.
Due to the year nearly at it's end I thought I would share with you some films posters, ones I particularly think are amazing or amazingly bad.
Beginning with the not so amazing then amazing.

This here be a list of 5 Horror films which aren't really horror when they come down to it. I will list the film, why it isn't a horror and then what makes it a horror in everybody's eyes. A killer known as Ghostface begins killing off teenagers, and as the body count begins rising, one girl and her friends find themselves contemplating the "Rules" of horror films as they find themselves living in a real-life one. See, even in the plot synopsis it states it's a horror film. When it really comes down to it it's just a man in a mask killing people which you can get anywhere, usually these though are called thrillers. Why? Because they are usually focused more on the police in search for said killer whereas in horrors they focus on a victim in torture from the killer in usually some stalkish way. That's what changes Scream from a thriller to a horror plus the fact the killer is wearing a mask modelled on a ghost which adds the illusion of something far more sinister than a simple killer, the talk of horror within the film also adds to the over all effect. It just wouldn't be the same if the killer called up Drew Barrymore and asked 'What's your favourite thriller movie?' would it? Refusing to let anything spoil their romantic weekend break, a young couple confront a gang of loutish youths with terrifyingly brutal consequences. Now does that say horror to you? No? Me neither. But the majority of people and if someone asked me outright off the top of my head to name what it is without thinking we would say horror. Obviously this is a thriller, a group of thuggish kids don't like a couple so give them a bit more grief than they should. What makes it horror though is the feeling it leaves you with at the end of the film. You are left feeling something special, something amazing, something horrific and plain down. I highly recommend this film. A wealthy New York investment banking executive hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he escalates deeper into his illogical, gratuitous fantasies. With American Psycho, it's pretty much the same as Scream, a slasher flick but a thinking man's high market suited slasher flick. What makes it a horror is (spoilers here) that we don't actually know if these killings have actually happened. Evidence begins to show they haven't but there is nothing to concrete they haven't. In the end it turns out that we are watching a man go insane. (End spoilers). Two teenage couples traveling across the backwoods of Texas searching for urban legends of murder end up as prisoners of a bizarre and sadistic backwater family of serial killers. The murderous, backwoods Firefly family takes to the road to escape a vengeful police force which isn't afraid of being as ruthless as their target. Brilliant films both in different ways and both are and aren't horrors for different reasons. House is a serial killer family torturing people both mentally and physically but does exactly what I said a horror does when explaining Scream. It focuses on the killers and victims. It's my favourite of the two films because of its atmosphere and feel. And is what I call the modern Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I had the same feeling at the end as TCM and that's hard to describe. It was mainly awe of every character. With Devils however it now focuses more on police, bounty hunters and part of the killer family, so how is it still horror? It isn't that's the thing. It's now essentially an action film. It has no real elements of horror in it except more torture but this time the torturing is different, still dark but more vulgar which seems to cheapen the horror. This I believe is horror due to it being a sequel to a horror, if it came out without House before it I think it would have been classed rather differently. Revolves around a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people.
Surprised as its an actual monster movie? The reason it isn't horror is that it's a buddy movie and a love story, these people just have to deal with a giant monster and its fleas on the side. The majority of the film is about the relationships of the people, just like the film 'Monsters'. In Monsters the two main characters started a relationship in real life. If you remember, going back to Cloverfield now that in the beginning we see the people at a party then at the end the main couple are talking and an object falls from the sky behind them. Showing it was always planned that the Monster invasion is behind the relationships and other drama. But then it is a horror movie because you have to remember the pure chaos going on around them, New York being destroyed and this giant monster being practically invincible, also its flea monsters going round biting people. I have to mention this also....Cloverfield is not the name of the monster. It's the name for the case of events caused by the monster. The monster also wasn't what fell from the sky in the background at the end, it was a satellite crashing into the sea then waking the monster up. So what did you think? Do you agree or disagree? Give us a comment on here or on the facebook page: facebook.com/dieonseta '6 Degrees of Hell' I aren't even going to write a full review on it. I've seen worse but I've definitely seen better. The Good: The make-up ish. (Some look good while others really dont). The story itself. (which leads into the bad). The Bad: Everything else. The story itself as mentioned was good but it was executed in a terrible way. It's never clear on what's what. It skips between past, present and elsewhere without telling you anything. The pacing for it is horrid, it's a slow burner which is fine but not when the pacing is that bad it just confuses itself. Constant dead ends within. There was way too much going on at once, even though it's the same story it seems to be showing every persons points of view at the same time. The editing felt as if it was edited together by a man with no eyes so he couldn't know which scene was which to put in chronological order. And so on and so forth.... I don't even remember this scene. Oh yeah, it wasn't in there. The characters were but not like this at all. I tried so hard to like this movie but an hour in felt like 3 hours and I was surprised I stuck it out to the end. I would say watch it yourself and let me know what you thought but I could not recommend this mess of a film to anyone. In all, 2/10. The novella based on the original screenplay of 'A Nightmare On Elm Street 3' shows what the film could have been.
'Silent Night' wasn't actually that bad and shall probably become a cult favourite like the original with many people committed to watch it year by year.
