We choose how things go down from there, fight, talk, end.
Obviously I haven't mentioned the inbetweens. The main problem I had with this episode is that it was again only an hour long like the previous, where the ones before it were a good couple of hours longer.
It is still a good episode, but the pacing seems a little off to say the least.
The first half of the game seems to be mainly fighting, and we get to see Bigby's true form. A GIANT ASS WOLF!
We also see Bloody mary's true form, all bloodied up, scarred up, and mirrored up. (In more ways than one).
After the action we then get the next half of the story as mainly talking. And to be honest without much resolve on whichever choice you're given.
By the end of it, it basically comes down to:
Do you have the Fables on your side?
Are you still that Big Bad Wolf?
And that's pretty much it.
I had faith in the start that the season was going to be great, and I wasn't proven wrong by any means.
It just seemed to suffer from lazier writing toward the end.
Especially considering the end they gave it, which is somewhat confusing.
I won't spoil anything, but they went for an old noir feel and style which was pulled off well, but left a big unanswered question which has many people scratching their heads like dogs. Or should I say wolves?
I understood what they were trying and some theories are better and make more sense than others, but all still leave mighty chunks of plot holes.
Hopefully every single little detail will be explained eventually. But then it could be like Donnie Darko, misunderstood as something it wasn't until your brain eventually goes 'Ooooh wait a minute.....'
Either way I hope they do a season 2 that could take place between 1 and the comics, or a completely different story altogether in the fable world. It's already shown that new characters can exist in one but not the other.
All in all, this episode:
7/10
The Season as a whole:
8.5/10
